Experiences create Memories, Memories create Desire
Hello everyone, my name is Jeff and I’m a young professional in sports marketing, educated in Leuven as a Sports Manager. I have built up experience at Belgian professional football club KVC Westerlo and I’m currently employed by Belgian Cycling Factory.
Sports and me, it was yet obvious soon. It all started in my first years as a human being. My bike soon became my best friend: I was able to ride before I could even walk. Not much later I got stuck on football too and sports has been my playground ever since. With a paper on how to physically prepare for a mountainbike race I ended high school and got introduced in a Bachelor of Kinesiology (Physical Education & Movement Sciences) in college. In this period I got stung by Sports Marketing classes and finished a Master in Sports Management later on.
My professional career took a first leap at first division football club KVC Westerlo, where I began as a Commercial Assistant and turned into the Marketing & Communication Responsible during my three years of commitment. Summer 2017 has moved me to Belgian Cycling Factory where I’m currently employed as the Social Media Responsible for Ridley and Eddy Merckx bikes.
In the meantime I have built my own opinion on marketing nowadays, which is expressed by my personal motto in particular: Experiences create Memories, Memories create Desire. This view got introduced by a travel experience in the United States, dating from summer 2013. Why I strongly believe in this tagline is explained in this blog post.
My main areas of interest & experience:
- Social media
- Brand activations
- Fan engagement
